I should've posted this a while ago, but in case ya'll didn't know, I've graduated from college! The past four years have been quite the experience, and being surrounded by such diverse people really helped me create myself. I'm a little bummed that it's over, but I think I was there long enough to be honest. 8P
Anyway, I was thinking about how awkward it is that the Paro, Wacky Rhythms and Maria's Life folders are just collecting dust in my gallery, so I thought I'd give a little update on each project.
Paro: While Paro has been my number 1 priority for most of its existence, I've decided to put it on the backburner for now. I'm just not ready for such an ambitious project right now. Not only does the story contain diverse characters, complex themes, and numerous plot threads, but it keeps getting gutted over. And over. And over. I don't know if I mentioned this here, but I actually overhauled the story earlier this year because I didn't like the direction it took. There's still a lot of gaps to fill, and even if there weren't, I don't think something so complicated would make a good "first try" so to speak. Which leads me to my next project...
Wacky Rhythms: Of all the projects I've discussed on this site, WR would make the best launchpad, mainly because it has the least room for error. It's primarily humor driven and full of surreal antics, so it's significantly easier to write for than my other concepts. The only hurdle I need to overcome right now is giving the characters redesigns than I'm satisfied with... I really need to get back to the Designs on X series, even if I don't always like the results.
Maria's Life: I honestly haven't a clue what I want to do with this one. It used to take place in a high school setting, but now I'm debating whether I want the characters to be college students, housemates, or something else entirely. So much is up in the air right now and I just don't know what direction I want to roll in. Since I keep changing the setting based on what chapter my life is in, maybe they should be posts-grads. 8P Also, the title will definitely be changed.
That pretty much covers it. DeviantART isn't as big a deal to me as it used to be, so I don't know if I'll be posting much, but whatever chapter you're in- whether it's high school, college, or the real world- I wish you luck! Toodles, loves!
